Recruitment is more than filling roles, it’s about finding talent that drives success. As a Recruitment Business Partner at Sogeti Ireland, Fiona Flynn ensures a seamless hiring process while helping candidates grow. With a background in HR and a passion for talent acquisition, she shares her journey, insights, and what makes recruitment so rewarding.

Tell us about yourself

I am originally from Co. Kildare, I now live in Co. Meath. My journey into HR began at the National College of Ireland, where I earned a degree in Human Resource Management. Since then, I have worked in various HR generalist roles before transitioning into recruitment seven years ago. Prior to joining Sogeti, I gained valuable experience in the food manufacturing and aviation industries, which laid a strong foundation in talent acquisition and HR operations.

Can you tell us a little bit about your career journey so far?

I started my career in retail during college before securing an HR internship, which led me into HR generalist roles. Over time, my focus shifted towards recruitment and for the past seven years, I have specialized in full-cycle recruitment sourcing top talent, building relationships with hiring managers, and ensuring the best candidate experience.

How do you support hiring at Sogeti?

I have been with Sogeti for three and a half years now, working closely with management teams to understand the company’s hiring needs. My role spans the entire recruitment process from sourcing candidates to onboarding, ensuring a seamless experience for both candidates and hiring managers. Every day brings something new, whether it’s reviewing CVs, conducting interviews or collaborating on hiring strategies. While no two days are the same, my focus is always on bringing in top talent to drive innovation and growth at Sogeti. My role also involves working with teams across both the local and global business, making each day dynamic and engaging.

What are your learnings at Sogeti?

One of the biggest things I have learned at Sogeti is the vast range of technologies and the global presence of Sogeti and Capgemini. Coming from a non-IT background, this has been an exciting area of growth for me.

What makes hiring so rewarding for you?

I am passionate about identifying top talent that drives the company’s success. It’s incredibly fulfilling to see the individuals I’ve hired grow within the business and make a meaningful impact.

What is your most memorable moment at Sogeti?

One of the standout experiences during my time at Sogeti was traveling to Mauritius as part of the Sogeti Champions Club and being awarded the Best Recruitment Partner award, an unforgettable moment!

Who is Fiona outside of work?

When I am not working, you will usually find me outdoors, taking walks with my husband and two kids, grabbing a coffee, or spending time at the local playgrounds. Travel is something I truly enjoy, and Italy is my go-to destination mainly for its amazing food! In the past I backpacked through Southeast Asia and I would love to go back and experience it again with my family and kids.

While I don’t have a traditional hobby my family and I are big GAA football supporters, and I love attending matches or watching games on TV. After a challenging workday, I usually unwind by going for a walk while listening to a podcast or watching something on Netflix, most likely a true crime documentary, as I am a big fan.
