Forest owners can easily manage their properties on their mobile device

Background

Norra skogsägarna needed to support their suppliers with a mobile solution and help them while they are out in the woods. A multi-platform app was much needed for forest management.

Solution

Android and iPhone apps were developed and deployed with integrated maps using Xamarin platform by Sogeti. The app allows entrepreneurs to access missions assigned to them via their mobile device.

It also enables maps support in offline mode. The app captures valuable feedback upon termination of a mission as the user must answer a questionnaire as part of Norra’s quality control.

Benefits

The new application makes it possible for users to access the management plan of the forest via tablet or smartphone. It is available for both Apple and Android devices and can be downloaded for free.

The biggest advantage is that the user can orient himself on his property using GPS. Additionally, the app is easy to use and intuitive.
