Meet Sivapriya, a Business Analyst in Sogeti’s graduate programme. Guided by expert mentors and extensive training, she’s gaining valuable hands-on experience with a leading Irish bank. Sivapriya praises Sogeti’s inclusive, collaborative culture, where core values are actively lived every day.

Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

I am Sivapriya, and I am from the ‘God’s Own Country’- Kerala, India. My journey brought me to Ireland, where I pursued a Master’s degree in Business Analytics at Dublin Business School. This leap wasn’t just about academics – it was about immersing myself in a new culture and embracing fresh perspectives.

Today, I’m part of the graduate programme at Sogeti, working as a Business Analyst with a leading Irish bank’s team. My role involves conducting gap analyses to align existing systems with new versions. What truly stands out in my journey so far has been the transformative training and learning opportunities that Sogeti offers.

How does academic knowledge differ from real-world applications?

Transitioning from academic learning to practical implementation is a journey in itself. Academics equip us with knowledge about tools and technologies, teaching us how to use them effectively. However, at Sogeti, I have witnessed how theoretical knowledge transforms into impactful solutions tailored to meet specific business needs.

In academia, we focus on structured solutions and tools, but the real world demands adaptability. Each project presents unique challenges that require custom approaches based on business needs, data constraints, and stakeholder requirements.

How would you describe the training or certification programs at Sogeti?

Sogeti offers a training program like no other. The initial phase of the graduate programme was well-structured and highly beneficial. It featured up-to-date learning materials, interactive courses, and knowledge-sharing sessions with seasoned professionals. This structured approach made it easier for graduates like me, coming from diverse academic backgrounds, to grasp complex concepts.

The company’s commitment to growth was evident in their support for certifications. For instance, preparing for the ISTQB Foundation Level exam was seamless, thanks to the classes and resources provided by experienced trainers. These certifications not only validated my skills but also boosted my confidence in tackling real-world challenges.

Beyond certifications, I had the opportunity to explore tools like SQL, Power BI, and Microsoft Fabric. Each expanded my technical capabilities and opened doors to better data handling and analysis. While mastering Microsoft Fabric was particularly challenging, it was equally rewarding and added a significant edge to my technical skills.

What mentorship support do you receive at Sogeti?

One of the most valuable aspects of my journey has been the mentorship I’ve received at Sogeti. My mentors have provided invaluable insights into best practices, industry standards, and technical knowledge, helping me bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world applications. Regular check-ins and discussions with my mentors allow me to align my goals with the company’s expectations, helping me grow both professionally and personally. Through mentorship, I have honed not only my technical skills but also my business analysis abilities, particularly in areas like requirement gathering and impact analysis. This comprehensive support and mentorship has been a fundamental of my growth at Sogeti.

What was your first impression of Sogeti?

From day one, it was evident that Sogeti truly embodies its values. These values aren’t just words on a wall – they are deeply integrated into the company culture and reflected in everything we do. Whether it’s the structured onboarding process or the hands-on project experiences, everything at Sogeti fosters learning and innovation.

Being part of the Capgemini Group provides exposure to diverse projects and global networks, ensuring that every day is a step toward building a solid foundation for my career. The opportunities for learning and growth here are immense.

How does your day look?

My day typically revolves around analyzing the latest version changes, preparing gap analysis templates, and conducting workshops with stakeholders to present these analyses. This mix of technical work and stakeholder engagement keeps my role dynamic and fulfilling.

Post-work, I love to unwind with a walk in the fresh air. It’s my way of decompressing after a day of problem-solving and collaboration.

Looking ahead…

As I continue my journey with Sogeti, I’m excited about the possibilities that lie ahead. I see myself growing into roles that allow me to lead initiatives, mentor others, and take on more responsibilities. My expectations from Sogeti are simple yet profound: to continue offering an environment that encourages learning, collaboration, and meaningful contributions.

My experience so far has been a testament to Sogeti’s dedication to nurturing talent. With every challenge I tackle and every skill I acquire, I feel better prepared to make a difference.
