On Tuesday, June 17th, Sogeti Ireland hosted a thought-provoking and inspiring event, “Sip Sustainably ☕: Discover the Impact of Your Office Coffee,”bringing together colleagues both in person and online to explore how our daily coffee habits can contribute to a more sustainable world.

☕ Coffee with a Cause

We were thrilled to welcome a guest speaker John Lawlor from our coffee supplier, Watermark, who shared powerful insights into the environmental and social impact of the coffee we enjoy every day at the office. The session highlighted two of Watermark’s standout sustainable coffee brands:

  • Green Ocean Coffee: Every bag purchased helps restore 1 square metre of sea floor in County Mayo. This initiative supports marine biodiversity and contributes to healthier ocean ecosystems. Even better, the coffee is directly sourced from farmers, ensuring they receive a fairer price and stronger economic support.
  • Woodland Coffee: Proudly Rainforest Alliance Certified, Woodland Coffee is committed to protecting forests, biodiversity, and human rights. Their ambitious goal? To plant 27,000 trees in Limerick, helping to combat climate change and restore native woodland habitats.

During this event David Lawlor presented some of the senior management with certificates to showcase the positive impact that Sogeti Ireland has had on the 2 above initiatives.

🌍 Why It Matters

The event was a reminder that sustainability isn’t just about big gestures—it’s also about the small, everyday choices we make. By choosing ethically sourced, environmentally conscious coffee, we’re not just fueling our workdays—we’re supporting reforestation, marine restoration, and fair trade practices.

🥗 A Shared Experience

Those who attended in person enjoyed a delicious lunch while engaging in meaningful conversations about sustainability, climate action, and how we can all make a difference—one cup at a time.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this impactful session. Let’s continue to sip sustainably and support initiatives that align with our values. Stay tuned for more events that connect our daily habits with global change.
