From studying in Washington, DC, to moving to London, and eventually landing in Dublin, Kathleen has always been driven by her love for new experiences, global connections, and making an impact wherever she goes. Here’s a little more about her journey so far!

Tell us about yourself

I’m originally from New Jersey, the Garden State, and I have taken quite the journey to where I am today at Sogeti. I studied in Washington, DC, moved to London, and eventually landed in Dublin. I have always been driven by a love for new experiences and global connections. I earned my bachelor’s degree in business administration, focusing on Marketing and Management, at American University in Washington, DC. During my college years, I had the incredible opportunity to study abroad through Boston University’s London Internship Program. That experience completely changed my perspective, showing me how much there is beyond my bubble and igniting my passion for working in a global environment.

Graduating during the pandemic in May 2020 was challenging, but I chose to pursue my master’s degree abroad. I moved to Dublin to study Information Management Systems at University College Dublin. After graduating in 2022, I joined Sogeti.

Outside of work, you’ll find me travelling whenever I can, hiking, swimming, or diving into a yoga or Pilates class. I also love spending time with friends, exploring new places, and getting lost in a good book.

Can you tell us a little bit about your career journey so far?

Before I joined Sogeti, I had a range of internships that gave me valuable experience in different industries. I worked on Capitol Hill for a US Congressman, at a travel agency in London, and at a marketing agency in New York. These experiences taught me lessons that still shape my work today, even though they weren’t directly related to tech space.

My career officially started in digital marketing, working in both New York and Washington, DC. One highlight was working on the 2020 US Presidential election and national campaigns. After moving to Dublin, I pivoted into IT and consulting, joining Sogeti in 2022. It was a big shift, but I’ve always believed in adaptability, and I’ve loved every step of this new journey.

And what about your role in Sogeti?

At Sogeti, I started as Project Support on a government project, streamlining processes for a Consolidated Contact Centre. I then transitioned to onshore PMO for an insurance account, focusing on project governance and finance with teams in Ireland and India. The dynamic nature of project management keeps things exciting, and I have been pursuing certifications like PRINCE2 and Capgemini’s Engagement Manager to further develop my skills.

We have heard that you are involved a lot in sustainability, and organizing many internal events, please tell us more about that.

Yes, that is correct. One of the things I am most passionate about is sustainability. When I joined Sogeti, I knew I wanted to be involved in our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives to make a positive impact on both our clients and the community. Sustainability is crucial today and many clients are eager to embrace it but don’t always know where to start. That’s where we come in, helping them integrate sustainable practices into their businesses. I have even become certified in sustainability through NEXT, and I’m always learning more about how we can help our clients on their sustainability journeys.

I also enjoy organizing events for the sports and social club, like pumpkin painting, axe throwing, and a walking tour, with many more to come – so stay tuned!

What are your memorable moments at Sogeti?

One of my most memorable moments at Sogeti was attending the Women in Project Management Summit, where I connected with inspiring women across the company.

I have also been fortunate to have incredible mentors at Sogeti. My line manager, Jonny and my colleague Ashutosh are my go-to people when I need advice or guidance. They have supported me every step of the way, whether it’s discussing career goals, navigating challenges, or helping me choose which courses to take next.

Tell us a a few fun facts about you?

When I am not working, you will likely find me trying out something new. One of my lesser-known talents is improvisational theatre! In school, I performed in musicals, plays, and even an improv troupe – something that has definitely helped me think on my feet in my professional life.

  • Your favorite travel destination: Jordan – I have been dying to visit Amman and Petra for the food, culture and history.
  • Favorite holiday: Thanksgiving! It’s my favorite holiday, and I love hosting a big Friendsgiving every year.
  • If you could have any superpower at work, what would it be: Teleportation – imagine how much more efficient I could be if I could just appear wherever I’m needed in an instant!
