Sogeti France behind "StatClimat" app
StatClimat is a mobile application on global climate change developed for the French Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy.
Paris, 27 November, 2015 - Sogeti France, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Capgemini, has been commissioned by the French Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy to develop and deploy the mass market StatClimat mobile application providing citizens with access to the key global indicators of climate change arranged into different themes. Available in French and English, on Google Play and App Store, StatClimat will be launched at the United Nations Climate Conference “Cop21”, taking place in Paris from 30 November to 11 December 2015.
Through text-based and graphical interfaces, the StatClimat application provides access to the key global climate indicators: rising temperatures, rising sea levels, temperatures in aquatic environments, or the increase in greenhouse gas (GHG) and carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. This gives the user a comprehensive overview for each of these indicators in order to better understand the changes, integrating the starting point, the causes and the improvement targets.
The mobile application allows users to choose the datasets they are interested in, use them offline, share them on social media or add them to the application favorites.
This application, designed, developed and deployed by Sogeti in its Digital Centre of Excellence based in Rennes, was built using a hybrid Android/iOS model harnessing the latest methods and agile technologies.
