London, UK – 15th May 2014 - Sogeti UK, a leading provider of local professional technology services specializing in application management, development and testing, today announces the availability of a new testing lab in the UK. Sogeti Studio offers businesses around the UK the ability to test across a wide range of regularly refreshed devices, browsers and application configurations, giving on-demand access to leading paid-for and open source, tools and frameworks.
The development of this service comes as a response to the challenges organisations are facing when it comes to quality, usability and performance of mobile and web applications. As reported by the 2013-14 World Quality Report 1) more than half (56%) of UK companies are now testing mobile devices (compared to only 19% in 2012). However, the biggest obstacle to mobile testing is lack of adequate processes and methodologies (63%), followed by device availability (57%) and insufficient time to test (49%). Consumers expect to be able to use their mobile devices to conduct a variety of business and social transactions. Without the right approaches, tools and planning techniques, the same report predicts that QA functions are likely to face a gap between market demands and their ability to deliver a reliable and secure experience via mobile channels.
Sogeti Studio responds to this gap, offering customers a proximate solution with the ability to rapidly validate their mobile apps and websites across real, regularly-refreshed devices to get accurate, high quality results without making huge investments in tools, devices or additional staff. Customers also have the option to visit the Studio and see their applications being tested in real-time.
Drawing on a wealth of mobile expertise, as well as partnerships with industry-leading technology vendors, Sogeti Studio offers a complete suite of mobile testing services supported by the industry recognized testing approach, TMap NEXT®, to deliver solutions that can be scaled up or down according to timeframes and client requirements.
Robbie Wright, ICT Project Manager at Southampton Airport comments: “We simply didn’t have the space to host test resources on site, so Sogeti’s local web and mobile lab – the Sogeti Studio – has been a real value add. In addition to the ability to ramp up and down resources in order to meet our deadlines, the fixed price commercials that Sogeti Studio offers made them a stand out partner to work with.”
Daryl Searle, Mobile Delivery Director of Sogeti UK, concluded: “We’re delighted that Sogeti’s mobile offering is growing from strength to strength. Being able to deliver high quality mobile testing services from a local UK lab gives our clients a uniquely scalable solution when offshore simply isn’t an option. We are really excited about the uptake we have seen so far – and with so many high profile mobile app failures in the press, it’s clear that mobile testing continues to be an imperative for any business looking to provide a high quality mobile or digital experience.”
